As usual, I'm taking time to blog when I havent' had a shower, the house is a wreck and I have homework due. I'll try to make it short 'cause I've gotta GET BUSY!
Jason and I have been trying to get a workout in each day. I say trying because just as I decide to quit being lazy and get back to working out and eating right I hurt my shoulder. Not exactly sure how but I do know it hurts like crazy. Probably from trying to hold a wildly thrashing two year old with one hand while trying to change his diaper. Or carrying both kids at the same time. That's FIFTY pounds of wiggling little kiddos! Anyway, I am going to get off of here and attempt at least one Ten Minute Trainer workout. As long as I don't have to do anything that hurts my shoulder I should be ok. And if the kids cooperate. We have been running with the Wii lately. That feels pretty good. First I did 4 miles, then 4.5 and last night I did FIVE MILES! I have never been a runner so five blocks is an accomplishment for me, much less 5 miles in 30 minutes. Well, OK technically it was 4.98 miles but that is close enough for me! Will keep trying to work out when we can. So far I've run every day since Monday. That sounds so much better than saying "I've only run 3 days in a row"! I'm going to try to log how many miles I run. I'm interested to see how many miles I run this year.
The downside to all this working out is I am EXHAUSTED! We've tried various tricks and times to workout other than after the kids are in bed but nothing else seems to work. We go for our run with the Wii and then by the time we cool down and shower and get to bed it is usually around midnight. Lately E's been getting up bright and early so it's getting harder and harder for me to get up in the mornings. I love the way I feel when I work out but am going to get sick and burnt out if I don't figure out a way to get more sleep. I sure wish I could find a babysitter for an hour or so every day so I could get my exercise and shower in and not be interrupted. I've considered finding a gym with childcare but that is not in the budget and I know we would eventually get tired of the hassle of loading everyone up in the car just to go somewhere for an hour.
I'm tired. Tired of being tired. Tired of being overweight and tired of griping about how I can't find time to exercise. When I MAKE time, then I end up exhausted because the only time that works is late at night. I am discouraged but will keep trying. At least I'm eating somewhat healthy. Most of the time.
Time to get off of here and get busy. Wish me luck! I'm gonna need it!

We're rededicating ourselves to getting into shape. I HATE getting up early but we can't seem to work it in any other time so we're gonna try getting up at 5:15 tomorrow so we can get in 30 minutes or so before breakfast and getting our day started. We're also starting a 30 minutes a day of cleaning in the evenings. We set the timer on the microwave and clean for 30 minutes. We do as much as we can within that time and then when the timer goes off we're done. It's amazing how much you can get done in that short amount of time and how much of a difference it makes in making your house look better. An hour a day to a better life. he he That sounds like a great idea for a book. :)

When my mom was here, she bought Jason and me a WiiFit for our combined birthday present. We had fun playing it one night while they were here. I really like the balance exercises, especially the hula hoop one (which feels REALLY strange to do in front of an audience!). I'm hoping I can start doing the yoga and strength training exercises this weekend when I have a little more time. Thanks, mom!

My class has started again, so I have even less time to blog than before. I am actually somewhat enjoying this class (Intro to Early Childhood Ed), even though it's very difficult to find time to do homework with two little ones needing my attention during the day. The best time to get that done is after their bedtime but by then I'm pretty much worn out. I've been getting up at 5 to work out before Jason leaves for work. It's been nice doing that together. We both feel better and have more energy but we'd better stop eating junk if we're going to see any results. And getting to bed before 11 would be nice too so I am not falling asleep by 5:30.
My mom and sister and niece and nephew are coming and I am so excited I can barely stand it. I've got lots of fun things for the kids to do and can't wait to spend time with mom and Bonnie. I'm hoping we can get the kids' pictures made while they're here. We need a new "cousins" picture since we've got a new little one here.
I don't have much free time but what little time I do have free, I'm trying to finish a quilt for Easton. I am still learning so it's slow going. I'm doing the easy part now (sewing the blocks together). The tricky part is finishing the edges. Maybe by Thanksgiving I'll have it done so I can take it to have grandma tell me how to finish it.
That's about it. Nothing too exciting, just busy, busy, busy. I miss having more time to blog but I am spending every bit of time I can trying to think of new fun ways to entertain E and A. Today we had a dance party in the living room. Audrey watched from her swing and Easton mostly just watched my terrible dancing and looked at me like I was crazy. But I sure had fun and hopefully they did too.

The weather is gorgeous today and Easton was less cranky so we decided to try out his new harness/leash. (It feels so mean to call it a leash but that's kind of what it is I guess.) He LOVED it! We walked all the way down to the end of our street and back which is a long way for a little guy! He really liked being able to explore the "wass" (grass) by himself and pick up rocks he found. I liked that too until he decided to see what the rocks tasted like. Good thing I was paying attention! No more rocks, Easton! GROSS! :)
I guess he was worn out after all that walking because I tried feeding him lunch right after we got back and he took two bites and he was done. Nap time!
We will definitely be taking more walks with his backpack. It's great for me too because it's a handy place for me to put my cell phone and keys instead of weighing down my pockets.
If anyone is interested, the backpack we got is called the SafeFit Grow-with-Me Backpack with Harness. We got it at ToysRus for $14.99. I'd say it was worth every penny. When he gets bigger and no longer needs the "tether" (leash), we can unhook it and it's just a regular backpack. Pretty cool.

We're having a good day here. I started out this morning with a one mile walk while Easton was sleeping. Then when he woke up, we went for a walk in the neighborhood. I'd guess we walked another mile or mile and a half. It was a nice day. A little chilly but Easton was cozy and bundled up w/his favorite warm blankie in his stroller and his OU hat on. Didn't take the camera with me this time but here's a funny one I took the other day on one of our walks. Can't remember if I posted it already or not and I'm too lazy to check. :)
He's laughing at me and I just love this picture. Who knows what crazy thing I was doing to make him laugh...that boy turns me into an idiot on a regular basis because I'll do anything just to hear his sweet little baby laugh.
Gotta go! He's up from his nap and wants a bottle. Boy, he can EAT!

We saw Dr. B today and I really liked him. He was very professional and nice and even though he was obviously VERY busy (he was running late today so we had to wait until 15 minutes after our appt time to be seen. The nurse assured me that this was very unusual. Let's hope so!) he still took time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and not make me feel rushed. And the good news? Easton weighed 10lbs 14 oz! YAY! And the nurse did not have trouble weighing him at all. Could it be the digital scale? Or could it be that this lady actually has an idea of what she is doing? :) Either way, I am pleased. Easton did get his 2 month shots today and that was rough for both of us. He's running a slight fever now and fussing a lot. I gave him some Infant Tylenol and lots of extra attention today to hopefully make him feel better.
In other news, I've decided to start Weight Watchers again. I really had good results with it last time I did it. I don't think I'll go to the meetings though...that's just a little too like Alcoholics Anonymous for me. (Not that I've actually BEEN to an AA meeting, just guessing.) "Hi, my name is Amy and I need to lose 15-20 pouinds." But I need to go get the books first. The ones I have will work but they're from 2003. I'm sure the new ones have more stuff in them and the more info the better. I still have all my WW recipes and stuff from last time, so getting started should be pretty easy. It's the exercising part that will be tough. Wonder if it would be safe to wear Easton in the front pack while I'm on the treadmill? It would add some weight and help me lose quicker. Plus, the motion will rock him to sleep. :) Just kidding. Don't think that would be a wise idea. What if I tripped or something? That would be awful! But it was a good idea aside from the whole "putting your child in danger" part. Guess I'll just have to do it when he's napping. Which would mean I could only get on the treadmill 20 minutes at a time. But hey it's better than none at all!

I just finished doing my Prenatal Yoga dvd for the first time. I love the way I feel after doing the poses but could totally do without all the kooky stuff the woman says during the yoga session. "Feel your heart bloom like a lotus flower opening up to the morning sun"??? Give me a break! Just show me how to stretch and do the poses and make my aching back feel better. I wonder if there is a yoga class or dvd that is offered without all that mumbo jumbo. My back does feel better but it is hard not to laugh at some of the stuff they say and I think that totally takes away from the calming experience of the session. Leave the incense and chanting and lotus flower references out of it and I think I could totally get into yoga.

Snow Day number two! :) Happy Valentine's Day to me! Too bad Jason had to go to work...it would be fun to be snowed in together. But, he's working and I'm in the same spot I spent the majority of the day yesterday...blogging from my couch. I swear, I think this end of the couch has the imprint of my butt in it from all the time I spend here.
Yesterday, I spent almost the entire day on my computer. I shopped (didn't buy anything, but had fun looking for a birthday present for my sister and my friend), I blogged, I worked on updating some forms for work, created a new form for one of the other teachers at work to use. I watched some tv and did one load of laundry, but that's about the extent of my day. Today, I'm determined to be more productive and active. We moved the treadmill back in the house this past weekend and have yet to use it.
I am really wishing I had a good workout video (or dvd) to use today, but every time I buy one it turns out to be SO dumb. Anyone have a favorite they can recommend? I've really got to get serious about working out. Not necessarily losing weight (although that would be nice too). I just want to feel healthier and have more energy. I miss riding my bike like I did the summer we lived in Muskogee. I don't know why, but I just can't get back into it like I did back then. I loved riding in the neighborhood we lived in. The houses were GORGEOUS! They were all beautifully landscaped and the roads were hilly and challenging to ride. Maybe when the weather warms up I'll get back into it, but in the meantime, I need something to do that holds my attention.
I have to get off the couch and get busy with something.
I have a stiff, crunchy neck today from sitting all day yesterday. Time to find something to do that doesn't require sitting. Hmmm...my house is clean, I'm not hungry so I can't cook. What to do, what to do?
