We had a busy weekend. Lots of playing outside, cooking dinner on the grill and getting stuff done. It was really nice. We did lots of laundry, cleaned a TON, planted the forsythia and lavender I bought last week, played ball with Easton, ate lunch on the front porch and just had a fantastic weekend. He was so cute today! He saw two birds in the sky and said "Hi birds!" Then he looked at me and said "Mama, catch it!" He put his arms out and tried to catch the birds flying overhead. Such a sweetie! I haven't taken any pictures all weekend. I was just too busy runnin after Easton and taking care of Audrey to get out the camera!
It's supposed to rain tomorrow so Easton will be heartbroken that he can't go outside but maybe he'll live. I'm trying to think of something fun to do inside. Maybe we'll make a tent in the living room and read lots of books. That sounds pretty fun to me! Maybe we'll even have a carpet picnic in our tent. We'll see.
Oh man...I had to buy Audrey a big kid car seat this weekend. I can't believe she's outgrown her infant carrier! She weighs 20.9 lbs and is 29 1/2 inches long. She'll be 10 months old a week from today. Of course I've already started planning her birthday party. Any excuse to plan a party and I'm a happy girl! I'm thinking of doing a "Pinkalicious" themed cupcake party. If you haven't read the book called Pinkalicious, it is SO cute! It's about a girl who loves pink and eats too many pink cupcakes. Every little girl needs a copy of this sweet book! (Hint, hint! We don't own that one yet!) There's also a Purplicious and a Goldilicious. Can't wait to read those. And can't wait to have Audrey's party! Has it really been a year already (almost)?! This past year has flown by in a haze of bottles, diapers, formula and many, many pots of coffee. I'm already missing my "little baby" but am perfectly content with my family as it is. No more little ones for this tired mama! (Although someone may have to remind me of that in a few years.)
I can't believe I was wearing shorts and running around outside while all of my family in Oklahoma was dealing with SNOW! On the first day of Spring! So glad all we're getting from that is a little rain tomorrow. I am NOT a fan of the cold/snow/ice. None for me, thanks! Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend!

Whew! What a week! Why is it that some days are easy-peasy and others are just BRUTAL?! I know, that's just the way life is but MAN, yesterday was a doozy! Easton decided to take his diaper off first thing in the morning before I was even out of bed so my day started out with me having to clean up pee and poop from the carpet. The rest of the day just went downhill from there. I won't get into all the details here because really it was just a bunch of little, tedious, annoying stuff that added up to one exhausting day.
But on a much brighter note, Easton and I have been having lots of talks about God lately. It started out last week with me praying out loud in the car. Then it really picked up after I prayed with him one morning during a rainstorm. We thanked God for the rain, thanked Him for the fact that we are all healthy and happy and safe. Now every day since then Easton has told me "Thank You God uh rain, Mama." Yes, sweet boy, thank you God for the rain.
I'm not really one who prays easily out loud. I know this is really ridiculous of me but I always worry that I'm gonna say the wrong thing or sound silly or whatever. In fact, when my friend asks me to say the blessing before we eat together, I always blush and get real embarrassed and she says it for us. What is up with that? There's absolutely nothing to be shy about! Praying is just talking to God and thanking Him for all he has given us. Why is that embarrassing? You know what? I'm done being embarrassed about that. What a silly waste of energy to be embarrassed over something like that! Also I realized that if Jason and I don't teach our children to pray, then how are they going to learn? So have been making it a point to pray out loud with Easton a lot. It's been really good for us both. :)
And this next part has been the highlight of this crazy, crazy week:
Some of you may have seen this on Facebook already but I just had to share it again. According to Easton, "God plays cars a lot. God needs to vacuum too."
Goodness, I love that little boy!

If you have ever said something and then immediately thought "I never thought I'd have to say THAT!", you should go to Meanest Mommy.Com and read her rules. Hilarious! Here are some of my favorites:
Rule #256: Cereal found under the couch (or under the pew cushions at church, or your coat pocket, or the bottom of Mommy’s purse . . . fill in the blank) is not an appropriate snack.
Rule #250: If you make so much noise that you wake the baby, please do not ask me to turn up the tv so you can hear over his screaming.
Rule #242: No matter how good it smells, you may not stick the chocolate chips up your nose. And most certainly do not attempt to eat extracted chocolate chips afterwards.
Rule #237: Your effort to avoid puking on the clean sheets is admirable. Next time, try also not to puke over the side of the bed onto your sister’s upturned, smiling face.
Rule #231: When we spend 20 minutes searching everywhere for your brother’s mittens, it would be helpful for you to reveal that they are on your hands.
Rule #225: Once you have said “Mommy” (or any version of “Mommy”) 50,000 times in one day, please just stop talking.
Rule #213: No, you may not play the harmonica in the baby’s room while she is taking a nap.
Rule #198: No, you may not glue those googly-eyes on your penis and scare your brother and/or dad tonight when you’re changing into your pajamas at bedtime.
Rule #180: Do not go “check on” your baby brother when he’s sleeping. And if you do, don’t slam the door during your escape attempt.
Rule #29: Just because you don’t feel like taking a nap doesn’t mean that your little brother doesn’t need one. Quiet down, kid!
Rule #22: No, I will not give you more bath water. You had plenty until you dumped half of it on the bathroom floor.
Rule #19: Nothing good comes from you crawling around on the kitchen table.
Rule #8: Spitting in Daddy’s face is not funny. Ever.
Rule #4: No screaming loudly for more goldfish crackers when there’s a big pile of goldfish crackers right in front of you.
Rule #1: Toddlers & syrup do not mix.

This morning Easton pointed to my forehead and said "Booboo. Mama booboo." I looked in the mirror to see what he was talking about and OH MY HOLY HECK!!! Where did THAT come from?! Lines on my forehead so deep you could lose a small child in there.
Good thing I bought this last night.
And this.
But apparently if my two year old noticed it then I should have bought this or .this.
And thanks to my kids I also need to add this, and this. Crap. Welcome to thirty something. While I'm shopping, maybe I'll buy this and this. Or maybe not but it's nice to dream, right? :)

What keeps me from blogging lately:
I left the room where I was playing in the floor with the kids to go wash my hands. While I was gone I noticed it got awfully quiet so I asked "Easton, what are you doing?" He said "Sit Sis." What??? Yep. Sure enough when I got back in the room he was sitting right on top of Audrey. She wasn't unhappy or anything, just looking up at him like "Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" Little stinker! Then I said to Easton just one of the million funny things I never thought I would say. "We do not SIT on our sister!" This was followed just a few minutes later with "Easton, we do not MOW on our sister either!" He loves that noisy plastic mower but his sis sure didn't!

Easton is getting funnier and funnier every day. He has such an imagination! This week he told me "Bear tooted". Where in the world does he get this stuff? Lately everything he hears is "noisy" or "loud", even if it's not. And last night while I was drying him after his bath and getting him into his pajamas he had this conversation with his bear:
Hi Bear.
How 'doing Bear?
Sleepy Bear?
Dark Bear.
Don't pee Bear!
Get you Bear!
Love you Bear.
I love hearing him talk more and can't wait to see what he'll come up with next.
We're getting ready to re-do his room for his birthday. Easton really doesn't need anything at all for his birthday but if anyone would like to get him something for his new big boy room (toddler bed instead of crib), we created a list on Target.com. Just go to http://www.target.com/, click Registries + Lists at the top and search for Easton's name.
