I can't believe it's here! Ultrasound day...which we thought for a few hours was NOT going to actually happen as scheduled! The tech had to fly to Florida for an emergency and they called to reschedule my appt. I said "NO WAY! Isn't there any other option?!" and they offered to reschedule me at another facilty. Now that's more like it! So instead of having the ultrasound at 10:15, I'll have a dr's appt at 11 for a checkup and then have the ultrasound at 2:30 and they'll call me to tell me the results. I SHOULD leave the ultrasound knowing the sex of the baby (if he or she cooperates) but they'll have to call me to tell me everything else. (If the size of the baby matches the estimated due date, etc.) So those of you with cell phones should get a text msg shortly after I leave the ultrasound...IF I have any news to report.
Can't wait to go to bed so I can hurry up and get tomorrow started!
We'll be in Oklahoma (weather permitting!) by 10 or 10:30 tomorrow night. :)
Can't wait to see everyone!

I know, I know...I haven't posted in a while. Last night I got home at 6:15, ate dinner and was in bed for the night at 7. Doesn't leave much time for anything. Tomorrow night maybe I'll actually have a real post. :) We'll see. Tomorrow is "happy hour" (which consists of iced tea for me these days) with my friend Kelly. Then it's home to do laundry to get ready for our trip! Yay! 3 days til I'm in Oklahoma again. Can't wait!

I think I must be one of the few people I know without a MySpace page. If you've seen that I have a MySpace account, you're right. I do. But I NEVER get on there except when people I know send me links to their page. I don't know why but I just never have taken the time to get into the whole MySpace craze. I guess because I have Blogger and it's easy to use. I already know how to use it and am too lazy to figure out another thing. :) Don't be offended if you never see me on your page. I can't even figure out how to read my MySpace messages people send. (I know, I know. Go ahead and laugh.) So that's what's up with me and MySpace. Just FYI.

We did get the bedroom painted this weekend. Well it's almost done. We still need to put a few more coats of brown on one wall. I LOVE the way it looks so far! Can't wait to get the headboard done and everything put back together like it should be. I'll take a picture when we're all finished.

I start my new job tomorrow. I think I'm really going to enjoy working in the infant room. It will give me an idea of what I'm in for when I have my own little one to take care of all day. :) I have a checkup tomorrow and then an ultrasound and follow up visit with the dr on the 29th. Wish they'd just do everything tomorrow so I could just make one trip. And so I could finally find out if we need to be thinking of a boy name. I've thought of several girl names. (Not telling just yet.) But we can't seem to think of any boy names we like. We're open to suggestions (for boys OR girls) if anyone has any names to suggest.

Now I think it's time for a popsicle and then it will be time to put on another coat of brown paint.

P.S. Happy Father's Day, honey! Isn't painting an exciting way to spend your first Father's Day?! :) But at least we'll cook out and sit on the deck and relax when we're done. Love you!

We're painting our bedroom today. It's barely past noon and we've already taken everything out of the room, cleaned the carpets, walls and blinds, fixed some nail pops (ooh, spackling is fun), and grouted some cracks where the foundation shifted and cracked the drywall. We've also taped everything off and we're ready to paint.

I think we'll take a break for lunch and then go to JoAnn's and see if we can find some fabric for an upholstered headboard. We may even stop at Lowe's and get some plywood so we can have all the stuff we need to finish our room (hopefully) by the end of the weekend. As usual, I didn't take a "before" picture but you can be sure I'll take an "after"! (You're not missing much by not having the "before". Just white walls and no headboard. Should be easy to picture once you see the finished product.)

Warning: talk about bras and pregnancy pimples. Don't want to hear about it? Skip this one. :)

I held off as long as I could, but I finally had to break down and do it. I had buy a bigger bra. (And right now my husband is reading over my shoulder saying "Oh gosh. Are you blogging about that?!) I decided to go ahead and buy a nursing bra so all I have to do is (hopefully) buy new bras one time. I HATE bra shopping! I had a choice of a pretty one that looked uncomfortable and a comfortable one that looked really ugly. I bought them both.

Sure enough...the pretty one was WAY uncomfortable and the comfy one was totally gross looking. I decided I don't care what it looks like as long as it fits and doesn't make me totally miserable all day long. Now the question...do I take the uncomfy one back? All I did was try it on. It still has the tags on it and I have the receipt and everything. Man, I HATE the idea of taking a bra back. What if the only person at customer service is a guy? Guess I'd better quickly get over any idea of modesty I might have because once I have the baby I'm going to be totally over any modesty issues I might have. What do you say? Take it back right?

And from buying bras to pregnancy acne. Boy are y'all in for a treat with this post.
I have (very luckily) never had a problem with breakouts. I might get one or two pimples once
a month but now? Oh man! 3 new pimples overnight last night. What happened to that pregnant woman "glow" I'm supposed to have? I'd love to take a picture of my growing belly but at this rate I'm just going to post a pic of my belly only.

While I was bra shopping at Target, I went over to see if I could find something to treat my breakout with. What I found was (get ready - I'm about to sound like a commercial):
Clean & Clear Advantage Invisible Acne Patch.
I love this stuff! And I should because it cost 8 bucks! But it was worth it! I put it on in the car on the way home. (Because I can NEVER wait until I get home to check out what I've bought. Unless of course I'm the one driving.) By the time I got home, the pimples were way smaller! So go buy this stuff if you need it (which none of you need because you're all glowingly beautiful. Have you lost weight? Of course you have.) :)

Anyway, it's time to get off the computer and enjoy the thunderstorm that's rolling in. I love sitting on the couch with the window open and listening to the rain come down.

Very quick post...my hubby's waiting for me to join him sitting out on the deck.
We did finally recover from the concert. By Friday night at quitting time I was so tired I was ready to burst into tears just talking about what to have for dinner. We called Domino's and vegged on the couch with pizza and a few hours of TV. We went to bed early (8:00!) and slept 11 hours. We got up at 7, had breakfast and then went to Walmart for some stuff for the house. We just hung out around the house all day Saturday and then Sunday we got energized and reorganized every single thing in the kitchen. It was to the point where when you opened a couple of the cabinets something came crashing down on your head. Cooking enthusiast that I am, I think I must have every single kitchen gadget ever made, so I had to get rid of some junk I never use. That felt good and now we actually have EXTRA space! Not just neatly organized cabinets but actually room to put more new kitchen stuff. Just kidding!
Only 18 more days until I find out if whomever kicking me is a boy or a girl. And fly out to Oklahoma that night. What a great day that will be! I can't wait!
Those of you I haven't talked to, give me a call so we can make plans to see each other (hopefully) when I come to visit. We'll be in Tulsa June 29-30, Perry July 1-2 and Lawton July 3-5. We won't have a car until Monday the 2nd, so transportation might be a little tricky, but we'll sure try to get to see everyone possible this time. Hurry up June 29th! :)

One hour and 45 minutes. That's how long I got to sleep last night. Whew! To say that I'm tired would be a gross understatement. But we sure had fun! The concert was GREAT! The opening band was Sons of Bill and none of us had ever heard of them but they were really good. Then Ragweed came on and put on a great show like they always do. My ears are ringing and my head hurts...but it was worth it!
What am I doing right after work today? Taking a nap! Then I think I'll get up and eat dinner and go back to sleep until tomorrow. :)

I'm getting a new job! A position has come open in the infant room at our center and I asked if I could work there. I need all the practice I can get! I should start sometime very soon and I am so excited! I get away from a crazy co-teacher, (some of the) temper tantrums, and (most of the) lesson planning. I will really miss the kids in the 3 year old room, but I will NOT miss some parts of it. I will miss the lesson planning...sort of. I have a love/hate relationship with lesson planning. I love researching new ideas and planning out fun new activities for the kids, but I hate the hours it takes away from my time with J and the $ it costs to really do things the way I think they need to be done. I do get reimbursed for stuff I buy, but it sometimes takes a lot of time to shop for all that stuff. All in all I think I am really ready for a new challenge. I will feel so much more relaxed (I think) after taking care of babies 9 hours a day for 4 months.

4 months? Yep. Today I told my boss I won't be coming back to work after I have the baby. That was a hard decision and it took a lot of soul-searching on my part but I am confident that I made the right decision. Plus, if it turns out that I want to go back to working there, my director said she'd love to have me back any time I'd like to start working again. (Provided they have a position, of course. )

And in other (completely unrelated) news...we're going to see Cross Canadian Ragweed tomorrow night! I am really looking forward to it. Even though it means I will be dead tired at work on Friday. It will be worth it. Plus, it's not like we do that kind of thing that often anymore and at least I'll have the weekend to rest up.

By the way...dad-if you read this, I owe you a phone call! :) I didn't forget, it just got too late and I fell asleep on the couch Sunday without calling. I'm fine and have no news to report (other than what you just read here). I'll be sure to call you this weekend. I love you! Hope you're having fun on that new motorcycle!

Gotta go spend some couch time with my hubby. Goodnight!

What a long day! We registered for baby stuff at Target and Walmart today. We found a lot more stuff at Target than we did at our Walmart. It was a little overwhelming to see all the choices available and I can't even imagine what BabysRUs must look like!

I was sure wishing I had someone with me who knew which stuff was stuff I'd actually use and which I could do without. At one point, I did get a little teary-eyed and told Jason that "I wish my mom was here. Or Bonnie. Or Leslie. Or Michelle. Or Jenni. They'd know what I need and we'd have fun shopping for it." But I did pick out a bunch of stuff we'd like to have in the nursery and I think we managed to make some good choices on the big-ticket items like a stroller, carseat, crib, etc. At least I hope we did. I know we're worn out from all that shopping! It was hard to stay away from choosing boy stuff or girl stuff. We did pick a little bit of gender-specific stuff at Walmart, but hopefully most of it will work for either a girl or a boy.

We went with a Jungle theme for almost everything we picked out today. A lot of green and yellow stuff which I think will look nice with the light blue paint we chose. Now we just need to find time to move the office stuff out of here and turn it into a baby's room. I shudder just to THINK of all the work that involves! Organizing and painting the guest bedroom, putting in a phone jack so we will have a place to plug in our computer, moving all the stuff from the office to the guest bedroom and finally painting the nursery. Anyone want to help?
