Uh oh...I haven't posted in a while. You know what that means! A long post where I talk about anything and everything that comes to mind and post way too many pictures of my cats. Ha!ha!

Update on the shoulder-it still hurts. I try to use my left hand as much as possible, but there are just somethings I realized I should not try to do with the "wrong" hand. Things like: applying eyeliner and mascara, writing (some folks can, I however, cannot!), eating soup. Although watching me attempt any of these things is quite hilarious for Mr. Crafty, it is not always pretty. Thanks to all of you for your kind get-well wishes. If things don't get better soon, I will be forced to see an orthopedic surgeon. (Wish I was closer to Dr. J, Katie!)

Still trying to not use my shoulder but carry on as though nothing happened has proven to be very hard. At first, I watched a lot of t.v. and complained about being bored. Then, I got off the couch and found a project. I painted some Halloween decorations. Yes, I hear you all now saying "But, Amy, that's using your shoulder." Yes, I know and I paid dearly for it the next day. I'll post a picture of my latest crafty adventure.

That's about it, really. We had some company this week. Dad's girlfriend came to visit and we had a really nice time. (Why does it seem weird to call someone dating my dad "girlfriend"?) Wish dad could have come to visit, but I know he does too. Maybe next time. (Love you, dad!)

Ho hum, another week at work. Bleh! Happy Halloween everybody!

Anybody ever had a Pumpkin Spice Ale? It is really good! I didn't expect to like a beer that in any way tastes like pumpkin pie, but I do. Mr. Crafty bought a sampler collection of Ales and Lagers from Michelob and we are having fun tasting all the different varieties. I DO NOT like lager at all! But I do like some types of ale and this little sampler thing is pretty cool. For those of you beer drinkers out there, I'll tell you what we got.
2 cool beer glasses
11 recipe cards with 22 recipes using the various types of ales and lagers
3 each of Classic Lager, Amberbock, Honey Lager, Marzen (German-type lager), Pale Ale (which should be my nickname because of my initials and my inability to EVER get a tan), and Pumpkin Spice Ale.

All this for 18 bucks at the local Food Lion. Pretty good deal and we get to try several types of ale and lager to see which ones we like. Too bad the Pumpkin Pie Ale only comes in this sampler pack thing. I'd like to drink this stuff more often! Gotta keep it away from the cat though! :)

Patches in a clay pot.

Yet another picture of my new cat doing something cute. No, I don't pose her or anything. She's just naturally this cute all the time. Man, if I take this many pictures of my cats, my kids (when I have them) are going to really be in for it! :)

We found out that Patches likes beer! She made a bee line for the beer that was sitting in Linda's lap when she was visiting and started licking the top of the bottle. I grabbed my camera, snapped a couple of shots and then quickly shooed her away.

Now don't go calling the ASPCA or PETA on me, I promise that no kitties were intoxicated or harmed in any way when this picture was taken! :)

She sure had some wicked gas afterwards though! Probably more information than you bargained for, but I aim to please.

Oh, I am so gonna be in big trouble for this one! :)

Mr. Crafty was nice enough to help me make some goodies for work, but was getting messy, so I made him wear my Pampered Chef apron. What a guy!

Then Patches decided she wanted in on the fun, so she climbed right up and perched on Jason's shoulder. I don't know which I think is cuter...Jason, in my apron or the cat.

Halloween candy dishes I made out of terra cotta pots. I think they turned out really well! And they were really cheap! I spent about $10.00 and made all of these guys in one night. :) Boo, ya'll! (From the latest K-mart commercial. I love it!)

OK, I know I said I was taking a break from blogging, but I am so desperately bored!!
My arm is in a sling and I'm kinda scared to use it too much because my shoulder makes these lovely popping noises and feels achy and all kinda stretched out...in other words, it does not feel good. Not too much pain actually unless I try to do too much, just instability (which ha! I actually typed out "unstability") that feels really gross. Which means not too much typing. Must remember this. What have I done today? Watched WAY too much TV and took a nap. Then woke up and watched even more tv. I am SO bored. Where are my friends when I need them?! Wanna play cards? Wanna go window shopping? Mr. Crafty left me to go to Philly to an Eagles game and while I'm sure he had a great time, I am LONELY! Hurry up 9:00 so I can watch Desperate Housewives!
Gotta quit typing now, as too much typing leads to an achy shoulder.
Anyone want to send me a good book to read? The one I'm trying to wade through right now is SO dull!
Couch potato Amy
P.S. Anyone want to come clean my house for me? It is so messy!

Sorry, probably not going to be updating my blog too much for the next two weeks. I've got my right arm in a sling and it is driving me crazy! I hurt myself moving boxes at work on Wednesday and the Dr. said I have a shoulder sprain. Oh joy. Too hard to hunt and peck type when you're used to typing up a storm. I am checking my emails and reading blogs but not posting too much for a little bit.
Take care!
Amy

Note to self:
Don't be in such a hurry to make friends with people. Give out your address and innocently invite what you think is a nice guy and his wife and kids over to hang out with you and your husband and he may for some strange reason think you are inviting him over so the two of you can hook up. Hello, moron! Did you miss the part where I said I am MARRIED??!! Very happily married, I must say. What part of "I am married" and "you are married" and "I was totally NOT hitting on you" do you not understand?! Thanks for giving me a little ego boost, but you can take your weirdness somewhere else, OK buddy?

Note to my readers: (oh so many of you)
Yeah, this really happened and yeah I was totally insulted and offended that my suggestion that we all hang out was so grossly misinterpreted. Guess what else? This creepy guy lives in my neighborhood, knows where I live and I am forced to see him on a regular basis at my work. And I have to see him in 12 days when he comes in for his appointment. Oh joy. Unless he comes in to visit me sooner. He knows I work Friday afternoons and am usually the only one in the office. Hmm...Friday might be a nice day to have Mr. Crafty visit me at work. All afternoon.

Last night we went to Charlottesville (pronounced Sharlots-vul for some) to see Cross Canadian Ragweed and Dierks Bentley. It's definitely not like seeing a show at the Wormy Dog or the Tumbleweed in OK, but it was fun. I didn't really get a good pic of Dierks because the security guards were being jerks and kept running me back to my seat. (Yeah dad, your daughter's a hellraiser.Ha!ha!) It really made me mad when CCR was onstage. I mean hardly anybody knew who they were and here I was sporting a Ragweed shirt and singing every single word to the songs and the guy could obviously tell I was a fan. They were just doing their job, I know but it still ticked me off. Whatever. We had a great time. I was happy to hear Ragweed play "Boys from Oklahoma". We didn't think they would because it was an all-ages show and I figured they would tame it down quite a bit for that reason. The ironic thing is that I think Jason and I were the only ones who knew that song was about OU. :) Did of course have to take a shot of Pistol Pete on the drumset. Go Pokes! Jason and I even had some fans of our own once some girls heard we were from Oklahoma. We told them we met at OSU and they said "Awww, how sweet!" It was good to see a few Ragweed shirts there. (Got Weed?) Also saw a Jason Boland shirt and of course I had to talk to that guy! We went with Amy and Heath and I think we all had a great time. Thank goodness I don't have to be at work til noon today!

I made this wreath today. It's the first craft project I've done in almost a year. I was beginning to consider changing the name of my blog because I sure haven't been very "crafty" lately!
The other pictures are of the decorations I bought at Michaels. Everything was on sale, honey! :)

OK, ok, here's a post already! :) Nothing too much to post about. Just been working and then hanging out at home with my hubby and my cats. New kitty's name is Patches. (Or Patch for short.) Now we have a Pumpkin Patch! :) The two cats are gradually warming up to each other. Pumpkin spent the first two days we had the kitten up on top of the kitchen cabinets. It was the only place in the house that the kitten couldn't get to.

In other news, I "Boo"d my neighbors. I was at a friend's house and as we were leaving, she opened her front door to find a Halloween goody basket on her front porch with a note. I liked the idea so much that I thought I'd start this in my neighborhood and see if anyone joined in. Here's a pic of what my neighbors got.

And here's what the note said so you can "Boo" your neighbors too! :)

You've Been "Boo"d!

The air is cool, the season fall.
Soon Halloween will come to all.
Ghosts and goblins, spooks galore.
Tricky witches at your door.
The spooks are after things to do,
in fact, a spook brought this to you!!!

The treats that came with this short note,
are yours to keep, enjoy them both.
The excitement comes when friends like you,
will copy it and make it too.

We'll all have smiles upon our faces,
no one will know who "boo"d whose places!!
Just two short days to work your spell.
Keep it secret, hide it well.
Please join the fun, the season's here.
Just spread the "boo's" and Halloween cheer.

Directions:
You have been "boo"d
Please keep it going by following these directions:
1. Enjoy your treat.
2. Place the "I've Been Boo-d" sign on your front door or visible in a window.
3. Within 2 days, make a copy of this note and poem.
4. Make 2 treats and 2 "boo" signs.
5. Secretly deliver to 2 neighbors/friends without a sign.
6. Keep an eye on nearby front doors to see how far and fast this spreads by Halloween.
