Easton,
You are eleven months old today! Right now we are in Tulsa, visiting your aunt Leslie and uncle Terry. Aunt Leslie just had a baby on Tuesday. Now you have a beautiful new cousin, baby Addy, to play with. You have been having a great time playing with your cousins Mason and Alexa. Alexa likes to copy every sound you make. You two screech at each other and she and Mason both make you laugh a lot. I love to see all of you laughing and playing together. We live so far away that these times are few and far between but it is so special when we do get together.
I can't wait for next weekend! Since we'll be visiting for a while, we're having an early birthday party for you at Nana's house next weekend. I am so happy when everyone visits and can see how much you've grown since last time we were here. And I have some special news for you, baby boy...you're going to be a big brother!!! Mama and Daddy are excited that our family is growing and I know you will be sweet to our new baby. I've watched you with your cousins and you are fascinated with new baby Addelyn. You watch her with wide-eyed fascination and I hope you'll do the same for your new baby in a few months.
You are so busy these days. There are new things to see and do every day, new foods to try (you love mama's meatloaf, lasagna and Jello cake), new sounds to make and new people to see. You want to walk so badly! Your favorite thing to do is pull up on whatever is around and just stand there, just because you can.
I can't believe you're almost a year old! WHERE did the time go?! No matter how big our family is, you'll always be mama's little sweetie boy. I love you!
Love,
Mama

Babies, babies, everywhere babies! :) I'm in Tulsa at my sister and brother-in-law's house and we're up to our eyebrows in everything baby. On Tuesday, Leslie and Terry had a beautiful baby girl Addelyn Kate (Addy). I've been here helping out wth big brother Mason and big sister Alexa and I'm so glad to be able to spend time with them. And to add to the baby-palooza, we just found out that Easton is going to be a big brother! Yep! That's right...soon the Edgar's will be a family of 4. Holy cow! My first OB appt is one week before Easton's first birthdy.

Boy, today has been a rough day for Easton. He's pulling up on everything but he keeps falling over and hitting his head. I think I should invest in a helmet. lol
Today we set up a pop up tent in our living room and played in it for a while. Easton thought that was pretty fun. Now the cats are sleeping in it. I guess I'll leave it up for a day or two so we can play in it and take it down before I leave for OK. Can't believe we leave this Saturday! Oh, I have so much to do before then!!! Laundry, packing, cleaning so I can come home to a clean house. I can't wait to get there though and see everyone. I think I've said that in my last 2 or 3 posts but it is so true! See ya'll soon!

I got Easton's ABC book in the mail yesterday. It is SO nice!!! I highly recommend Shutterfly for photo books! The pages turned out great, the colors were bright and true-to-life and the cover is very professional looking. I can't believe I made this book with photos I took. Hopefully, Easton will like it. I will definitely be making more photo books for gifts. I'll probably try out some different companies based on the prices they're offering but Shutterfly gets two thumbs up from me.
For those of you that I'll be seeing in OK, I'll be sure to bring E's book so you can see for yourselves what a great job Shutterfly did on the printing. :) Can't wait to see you!

Happy Grandparents Day, Grandma! I love you and miss you more than words can even tell you! It makes me so happy to see you with Easton...two of my favorite people together just really makes my day. You and I have always been so close and spending time with you is what feels like "coming home" to me. I love you so much. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
Love,
Amy
P.S. Wish you were here to help me with canning! It's apple butter-making time and I can handle the making it part, but the canning part scares me to death! Wish you could just sit here at the bar with me and walk me through it. I'll figure it out though and I'll be sure to bring you some of the "fruits of my labor" if it turns out well. Love you!
We've had a great weekend here at the Crafty house. Friday night, we stayed home, relaxed and hung out in front of the TV. Saturday, we got up and got around and went to Edinburg, VA to the Shenandoah Vineyards Harvest festival, despite the fact that we were getting tons of rain from whichever hurricane or tropical storm was passing through. (Hanna, Isaac, I don't know.)
We got there around 2 and it was still raining lightly. The three of us bundled up in our rain jackets, grabbed an umbrella and set out for an adventure. Easton looked so cute completely covered from head to toe in one of Jason's rain jackets. We paid our admission fee and I got my hand stamped and we were on our way. Jason was on daddy/driving duty, so he opted to just let me be the one to do the wine tasting. Fine by me! :)
We found the wine tasting tent and I was glad to be out of the drizzling rain for a bit. I ended up tasting several wines I liked and marked them down on the list they gave out. Being a very casual wine drinker, I wasn't quite sure the proper way to participate in a wine tasting (and yes, there really IS a right way. Too bad I missed that little demonstration that day) but I sniffed and sampled my way through about a dozen different wines. Thankfully, each sampling was just about a mouthful or I would have been feeling pretty good by the time I got through all 12. After that, we checked out the arts and craft area inside. We ended up buying Easton one of those personalized music CDs that I always thought was a rip-off. (Funny what you do when you have a kiddo of your own. E loves Sesame Street, so mama and daddy couldn't resist. Plus, his birthday is coming up.)
Next, we went downstairs where a band was playing. We sat there for a bit and fed Easton his lunch. By this time, the rain stopped and I was SO wishing I had my camera! The vineyard looked beautiful after the rain and the mountains (the Shenandoah mountains) were topped with fog and clouds. It would have made for a gorgeous picture but I didn't want to run the risk of getting my camera wet so I left it at home. We were only gone for a few hours and Jason was glad to be home in time to watch the OU football game.
What a nice, relaxing way to spend a Saturday! Easton had a good time people-watching, mama had a good time sampling the different wines and daddy had fun watching OU on TV. Pretty nice day for everyone.
Today, we just relaxed and hung out in our pajamas until way into the afternoon. Then Jason and I got busy and organized our kitchen cabinets and baby-proofed the house a little. Easton is really on the move these days! We're going to have to order some magnetic locks for some of the cabinet doors so he can't get to the cleaners and stuff and dig out (and clean up!) the baby gate that I bought when I had a puppy years ago.
Yep, it's that time! I can't believe how quickly Easton has taken to crawling all over the house. It seemed like just yesterday I could put him down in one spot and go in the kitchen to fix his bottle then come back and he'd be in the exact same spot as when I left. NOT ANYMORE!!! Our boy is on the move! It's cute to watch him explore everything. Must have been so frustrating for him to want to go somewhere or check something out and not be able to get there.
After our organizing was done, I helped Easton fingerpaint. It was fun to do this on a day when Jason could be home to see it. Easton really got into it today. More so than ever before. He even ended up with blue paint on his nose! It was too cute. Hopefully I'll get those pictures uploaded pretty quick so ya'll can see.
Can't wait to go to Oklahoma to visit Leslie and her sweet kiddos. Can't wait to meet my newest niece! I just wish Jason could be there too but I'll take lots of pictures and email them to him so he can "meet" her too. I also can't wait to see Jenni and family and everyone back in Lawton too. Sept 20th, hurry up! Love and miss you all!

I spent days and DAYS working on a photo book for Easton. I finally got it finished and am pretty happy with the results. I can't wait to see the printed version of all my hard work. It should arrive some time next week and I'll be sure to let you know what I think. I ordered it from Snapfish. Several other companies have photo book deals going on right now. If you're thinking about giving one as a Christmas gift, I suggest you get in on the cheaper prices and avoid the last minute rush in November.
Some of my favorite sites for photo printing and photo gifts:
Kodak Gallery
Free shipping right now for purchases over $25;
Snapfish
ArtsCow
I signed up and created an account with them and got an email for a 20 pg 8x8 photo book for $4.99 with free shipping. That's a GREAT deal!
and last but not least Shutterfly
Save $10 on 12x12 photo books;
$5 on 8x8 and 8.5x11 photo books;
$3 on 4x4 and 5x7 photo books.

J came home tonight and said "Hey, I've got a chance for us to go to Williamsburg for a week. Do you want to go?" Uh, YEAH!!! It seems a coworker of his has a timeshare he's not going to use this year and is offering it to us. We'll only be out $180 for the cost of changing the location (from Massanutten to Williamsburg) and the cost of gas to get there. Woohoo! It's been a while since we went somewhere other than Oklahoma and I can't wait to go on vacation! We're looking at going the week of E's 1st birthday if my mom doesn't come for a visit then. (Or the week before if she does. Hope you can come, mom!) The next two months are going to be nothing but travel for me and Easton! It's a little over 2 weeks til our trip to Tulsa for the birth Easton's newest cousin. We'll be in Tulsa for 2 weeks to help out and then it's down to Lawton for a week. After we come back, it's only a week or two at home and then it will be time for our Williamsburg trip. I can't wait!
