I just woke up at 5:30 am to do my Denise Austin Power Yoga and Pilates dvd. I hated it. I felt like a beached whale trying to do a dance routine. I'll try again tomorrow, but unless it gets easier or I somehow find some coordination overnight, I do not think Denise and I will become fast friends. Plus, her voice annoys me. My husband says she sounds like she smokes too much and I tend to agree. But she does look like my friend Valerie from McAlister's Deli and that's not so bad.

Getting ready for work and the "big snow". Wonder how much we'll actually get.

Where did we go for our office trip? We went to Tyson's Corner in D.C for a day of shopping. (For those of you who don't know what that is, click here.) We all had a great time shopping. After that, we had reservations at P.F. Chang's for lunch. YUM! Their lettuce wraps are SO good! What a great day I had! I actually got paid for shopping and eating good food. Can't beat that! Anyway, it was such a nice day. I really felt like I got to know a few of the staff better and they are just as nice as I thought they would be. And a lot of fun too!

In other news, we had about 6 inches of snow last week and they are predicting a lot more for tomorrow. Like anywhere between 6 to 15+ inches! Oh boy. I think I feel the sniffles coming on. Cough, cough. Yep, definitely getting sick. :)

Today, Jason and I went to Lowe's and Walmart to look for ceiling fans for our new house. I also picked out some paint colors that I am considering. Jason is thrilled about that. (Not!) We are getting very excited about this house.

We are also getting excited about Jason's sister, brother-in-law, and nephew coming to visit on the 12th. We are really looking forward to seeing them and showing them around. (Too bad I still have to work!)

Yesterday I got some fabric to try to make myself 2 skirts to wear to work. That should be interesting. I'm not the greatest seamstress in the world. Wish I was closer to grandma, so she could help me! Don't know when I'll find time to sew, but I'm hoping to get at least one of the skirts done before our company comes to visit.

Anyway, that's about all that's new with me. Those of you in Oklahoma, enjoy the nice weather. Take care all and I'll talk to you later in the week. Have a good one!

We got SNOW! Not sure about the total amount, but it looks like about 3 inches or so. Enough to make them close schools and cause everyone to panic (except me). I don't really care for the snow all that much when I have to get out in it, but even I had to admit that it was pretty.

Tomorrow at work, we're going to have a fun day. No one knows where we're going or what we're doing. All we know is that it's going to be a kind of employee appreciation day and that we will be gone most of the day. Oh yeah, and we can wear jeans. YAY! I'll be sure to report where we go.

In other news, Jason and I just signed a contract on a new house. This is THE ONE! We expect to be closing on it in late May, if everything goes well. It's SUCH a nice house! We are very excited about it. I'll post pictures of it in a few weeks. It's still under construction, so it doesn't look like much now. Time to go furniture shopping! And pick out paint colors! Yay again!

Wow! Having a job really cuts down on my blogging time. :) Not too much new to report. Worked all week, learned a lot of new stuff. Jason worked about 60 hours last week, getting ready for inventory and such. Needless to say, this didn't leave much time for anything fun. He even worked 12 hours on Saturday. :( At least he doesn't have to work this much all the time!

In other news, we are considering putting a contract on a new construction in Inwood. It's got 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1 car garage and a stone exterior. We really like the floor plan, but have some further checking to do on the builder and the location. We'll see.

Gotta run for now. Jason asked me to make him some oatmeal raisin cookies. Gotta get that done before Desperate Housewives comes on! Have a great week!

Well, I had a nice time in Oklahoma. Didn't get to see all of the people I wanted to, because I got pretty sick with the bad cold/virus that everyone's had. But that's OK. It just meant I got to spend a lot of much needed catching up time with my sister and her kids. My nephew is SO cute! I think I'll borrow/steal my friend's nickname for her little boy and call him Squish. (Hope that's OK to borrow that one, you-know-who.) He's just so round and roly-poly and well, squishy! He's adorable! And my niece is equally cute, I must say. We had quite the time sleeping in her Disney Princess bed together all week. (She kicks like a mule while she's asleep!) All in all, I had a great time. I got some more new clothes for the job I started yesterday. It was fun to go shopping with my sis, as I can't remember the last time she and I were able to go shopping together.

Speaking of the job, it is going well. It's like learning a foreign language. Trying to understand all of their abbreviations and procedure codes. There is going to be a huge learning curve, I'm quite sure. But I know I can handle it. Everyone seems very nice and friendly and I can tell I'm really going to like it there. For the most part, I'm not going to talk too much about my job on this blog. Don't wanna get "dooced". (For my friends who don't know what that means, check out my link to Heather's webpage .

We had a happy but short Valentine's Day here at the Crafty house. I got a dozen pink roses and a very sweet, romantic card from my honey. I cooked us some baked ziti and garlic bread for dinner. For dessert, we had brownie cheesecake and champagne. Then, I was in bed asleep by 9:00. It was a good night, but not great for romance to start a new job on Valentine's Day.

That's all for now. I apologize for not responding to emails recently. We've been having trouble with our modem. But hopefully, we've fixed it and I'll get to your emails ASAP. Also, sorry to those I didn't get to visit while I was home. Trust me, I was VERY disappointed. But I'll try to make it up to you all next time I come home.

Good night all!

Too many stripes. :) Posted by Hello

I feel pretty, oh so pretty. :) I just got a bunch of clothes for my new job. Funny thing is, they all look alike. Must get something other than stripes next time I go shopping. Which will be soon. A girl can never have too many clothes. Funny thing is, I never was a clothes person until recently. Why? I give Weight Watchers all the credit for my newfound passion for buying clothes. I am finally very close to being happy when I look in the mirror. I know weight shouldn't matter, but I feel SO much better than I ever have before! It's amazing what losing 20lbs will do for ya!
Here's wishing everybody a good day today!

Snow! We got some unexpected snow today. So much for running errands. I think that can wait.

Guess what else? I got the job! Woohoo! I start Mon. Feb. 14th and am really looking forward to it. Guess that means I have to go shopping for some work clothes. (Yeah, someone may have to talk me into that one. Goodness knows I can't stand to shop!)

This is a fun time waster. Try playing Twenty Questions.
(Thanks to Chris at Rude Cactus for posting that on his site.)

I got a new keychain today. Big deal, right? Well, actually it is. It's my Weight Watchers 10% keychain. Yay, me! It's taken a while, but I finally did it. Hmm...now it's time to set one more goal. Gotta think about that one for a while. The goal I'm thinking of is only 7lbs away. That sounds reasonable. But I'm sure I won't be losing any while I'm in Oklahoma next week! I'm going to be cooking a lot though. Maybe I'll cook some WW meals and see if my sister notices. I bet she won't. All my favorite WW recipes are SO good! I'll post some on the recipes page when I get a chance. Have a great day everyone!
P.S. OK, Kristin, it's your turn now! :) I know you can do it!

Damn, I'm good. I STILL couldn't sleep after I went back to bed this morning, no matter how hard I tried. So I got up when J's alarm clock went off and made waffles and coffee. I even packed his lunch for him. Yeah, I know. Kinda disgusting, isn't it? But rest assured, he knows not to get used to this. I'll be back to my normal "don't even think about waking me up at this ungodly hour in the morning" attitude in no time. Now that my tummy is full of waffles and my honey's off to work...I'm going back to bed! :) I've been awake since 2:15 am!

I ordered my hubby's Valentine's Day present today! I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd do a little online shopping. Hope he likes it!

I had my interview at 5:00 last night. It went really well. I left with a good feeling about it overall and hope to hear something from them this week. Even if I didn't get this job, at least I feel like I did a good job at my interviews. I normally do horribly, so I guess that's progress, right?

Guess I'll try to get some sleep. It sure was fun shopping though! :) I love buying presents!
