I am finally getting a short time to blog. Let's start with a couple cute pictures of the rainbow rice project we did last week.

We both loved this project. I think maybe I loved it more than he did but he did like it. :) Something about those rainbow cupcakes got me all rainbow-obsessed. Nothin' wrong with that, right? :)

Its so beautiful. I was so proud of my rainbow macaroni table but I never had the macaroni separated.
I must have missed the rainbow macaroni. Sounds cute though!
I was a little sad when the rice got all mixed up but it did kinda look pretty all swirled together though. I'm definitely going to have to make some more of this! I made 10lbs of rice but E plays with it on the deck and we've lost a lot by now. Maybe a Costco sized bag next time. Whew! What a lot of work but it sure would be fun!
Very cute...I'm curious about how hard it was to color. But now I'm being lazy and don't want to look the "recipe" up.

I wasn't hard at all. You just put the rice in a gallon ziploc bag and add a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol and a few drops of food coloring. Then you just smoosh it all around until it's all colored, spread it out to dry on cookie sheets covered with wax paper and wait til it's dry. It does stain your fingers a kind of gray color when you play with it but it washes off easily. I think I'm going to make some more soon. E likes to dump it out all over the yard so we've lost a lot of ours by now.
Hey and by next year you'll have rice trees growing up everywhere! ha ha
Btw..I did end up going over to her blog and looking at the recipe. Sounds fun. Maybe I'll put it on my summer craft list for the kids. :o)
