Today I've been working on creating a page specifically for my recipes. I will eventually link it to this page, but I'm not sure what would be the best way to go about that. Any suggestions?

Here's where you can find my recipe page right now Crafty Devil's Recipes

Woohoo! Just got called in for a 2nd interview tomorrow with the Dr's. Yay! Time to go shopping for an outfit to wear.

Let's hope I don't say anything to embarrass myself tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I was looking back over my blog and noticed that there aren't that many recipes or craft project pics and directions on here. Originally, my goal was to have both of those things, plus my daily rambles about what's going on in my life. But I'm working on making a new page for recipes and another seperate one for my craft projects. Hopefully I'll be able to link them all together and make it look decent. I'll keep working on it and you guys will be the first to know when it's done.

I've got some great new recipes and some pretty cool projects that I've done lately (or helped with). Can't wait to share them with you!

We're just taking it easy. Lounging around on the couch in our pajamas, watching movies and playing with our kitty. That's about all for us this weekend. Too cold for anything else! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Well, that's the end of the dog saga. He's been claimed. His name was Sammy and he belonged to someone in my building. She had just adopted him yesterday and he got away last night. Oddly enough, the girl just moved here from Oklahoma too. Small world.
Anyway, I'm happy that Sammy's back where he belongs. He sure was a good dog while he was here! Made my hubby REALLY want a dog after we move to a house of our own.

This dog is making a liar out of me. Just after I posted this morning, I was sitting in the living room, reading a book to keep from worrying about this dumb dog who's not even mine. All of a sudden, what do I hear? Yep. Scratch, scratch at the door. He's back. Now he's sitting curled up on my couch like he owns the place.

Update on the dog...

It is 7:00 a.m. and I have been up since 4:30. For some reason, I couldn't sleep. Then when Jason let the dog out this morning, he ran off and didn't come back. J said he even drove around the block on his way to work and there was no sign of the dog. So of course, I couldn't go back to sleep after that. It is 18 degrees in Winchester today, with a wind chill of 6. All I can do is think about that poor little guy outside in this freezing cold weather. But what can I do? I tried. It wouldn't do much good to go looking for him because it's still dark outside. Well, I gues if he comes back, I have fliers made up to try to find his owner. I hope he comes back. Or if not, I hope he remembers his way back home.

FOUND
My digital camera.
And one very cute beagle.

I'm making up fliers tonight to put on doors in my apartment complex. It's 37 degrees outside and this guy was whining on the sidewalk. I tried hard to ignore him as I was carrying in my groceries, but he followed me upstairs and sat outside my door and whined some more. Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore and let him in. Let's hope I find his owner because I cannot keep the dog. Must keep telling myself Cannot. Keep. The. Dog.

Look at this sad face! Could you leave him out in the cold? I didn't think so. Posted by Hello

My interview today at the orthodontist's office went well. I don't want to get my hopes up too much, just in case I don't get it. But I feel really good about it. I think it seems like it would be a great place to work. It's for a receptionist job...one similar to what I've done before, but in a new field. Should be interesting. I should hear something in the next week or so. Keep those fingers and toes crossed for me! :) Meanwhile, I'm still sending out resumes and going on interviews just in case!

In other news, I'm going home!!!!! YAY! I'm going to Oklahoma for a visit Feb 6th through 12th and I'm really excited to see that cute little nephew and niece of mine. Oh yeah, and my sister too. :)

What a tough day. My sister is having her baby this morning in Oklahoma and I'm still here in VA. I can't believe I have to miss this. I've been crying about it all morning. But the good news is, she seems to be doing well. I talked to her on the phone this morning and she said she's not having too much pain. She's having a c-section and she's pretty nervous about it. I'm just sitting around waiting for the call that says my little nephew is here. And wishing very much that I was there.
I love you, B! I love you too, little baby boy! Can't wait to find out what mommy and daddy name you! And I can't wait to see your sweet little face. Your aunt Amy loves you very much!

Oh wow! I don't even know where to start talking about all that has happened in the last 3 weeks. So, I won't. I'll just say that I love it here in Virginia, even if it is freezing! I hate snow, so it should be an adventure. You know you're in for it when they sell snowblowers at Walmart!

I do really like it here, but I think this is appropriate...

Things I Miss
Organized cities
Straight roads
Good Mexican food
Knowing where everything is
(I'm slowly learning, but I still get lost at least once a day.)
Being close to home. (Lawton, OK.)
My friends and family.

Things I Love
Beautiful scenery
Hilly, curvy roads (Yeah,it's a love/hate thing.)
Our new apartment
Going new places (Even going to the grocery store is an adventure right now!)
New friends

Hope everyone's having a great day today!
I'm off to search the 'net for some new recipes to try!
God, I've missed my computer! :)

YAY! I have internet access again! I'll post again tomorrow when my hubby's at work. :)

Wednesday, January 12, 2005

Hello all! I sure have missed my computer these last few weeks! We still don't have internet access at home...waiting on Verizon to mail us our modem. HURRY UP ALREADY! But I finally made it down to the local library and got a card so I can use the computer here for a while. Posting will continue to be sporadic (if at all) until Verizon gets that modem to me.

The move went well. We didn't run into any bad weather like we had originally feared, so we were very happy. We finally got all (well, most) of our boxes unpacked and have even made a few friends here already. I think we will really like it here in Virginia.

Oh yeah, by the way, Pumpkin didn't like being cooped up in a cat carrier for two days straight, but she made it to VA just fine too.

Jason continues to enjoy his job. I haven't really started looking for one yet, but I'm sure I'll get on the ball soon.

Our apartment is really cute. Probably one of my favorite places I've lived so far. And trust me, I've lived in quite a few rentals! We are currently still working with a great real estate agent. Now that we've got a place to live for at least 6 months, we are thinking about trying to build a new house instead of buy an existing one. Both of us really like the idea of building so that hopefully we can get exactly what we want.

I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting here in Virginia. I was really worried that with all the junk food I had eaten in the past few weeks during the move, that I would have really packed on the pounds. NOPE! I actually LOST two pounds! YAY! So, that brings my grand total of pounds lost to 18.8! YAY again!

That's about all for me, I guess. You can be sure I'll post whenever I can, but that probably won't be very often.
